The Appalachian Regional Fair, better known as the Gilmer County Fair, is one of the Ellijay Lions Club fund raisers, held each year in August. The fair runs from Tuesday to Saturday with the fair opening each day at 6:00 pm and closing at 11:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday nights and closing at midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

The fair is a true country affair with table after table of the best our local exhibitors have to offer in many categories from fresh vegetables and jellies to handmade quilts and artwork. We have a nightly livestock show and the entertainment in the pavilion always draws a crowd! Of course, the midway, operated by Terry's Rides, is a huge hit with the kids! We do offer "arm-band" nights so parents can let their youngsters ride as much as they want for one price.

Food abounds... from the Lions Snack Bar to the many vendor locations throughout the midway - you won't leave hungry - unless you want to!
