Vision & Hearing Services

As a service to the Gilmer County Community, the Ellijay Lions Club has administered a valuable service by providing a professional eye examination and free eyeglasses to those citizens who are experiencing poor vision, are un-insured, and find themselves financially unable to solve this disabling problem. The local vision centers who cooperate with the Ellijay Lions Club in this Vision Program donate the eye examination provided by the vision professional. This is their contribution to the Club's program. The Ellijay Lions Club will pay the vision center for the eyeglasses provided to the citizen in need. Result: the eligible citizen has their vision corrected without cost to them.

Those interested in the benefits of this program must be a legal citizen of Gilmer County for at least one year, and submit the necessary application (see below) for assisstance with their vision and hearing needs.

located in the Piggly Wiggly Shopping Center. They are picked up once a week.
