About the Ellijay Lions Club
For over 90 years, the Ellijay Lions Club has been a cornerstone of civic life in Gilmer County, Georgia. We are proud to be one of the most active service organizations in our community.

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs. We believe that through service, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us.

Join Our Club
Membership in the Ellijay Lions Club is open to anyone who wants to make a difference. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 PM at the Ellijay Lions Club.

Our History
The Ellijay Lions Club was chartered in 1934, making us one of the longest-standing civic organizations in Gilmer County. Over the decades, we have grown in membership and expanded our programs to meet the evolving needs of our community.
From our early days to the present, our members have dedicated countless hours to serving neighbors in need — whether through free vision screenings, collecting eyeglasses and hearing aids for the Lighthouse Foundation, holiday giving programs, or supporting local youth through scholarships and the LEOS Club.
Today, we continue that proud tradition, working hand-in-hand with Lions Clubs International — a global network of 1.3 million volunteers in 205 countries — to bring meaningful change at the local, state, and international level.
